“The great thing about water is that it’s organic. What we see in it is abstract. I can create all kinds of shapes that please me and colors that please me to pursue abstract ideas and emotions. And yet I can mold it to make it look like water which is highly evocative for everyone because we all have experiences and memories with water.” Danielle Eubank.
“Santa Ana College is honored to have Danielle Eubank exhibit work from her ‘One Artist Five Oceans’. As a learning institution it is important that we showcase work from artists that can share in the learning of our students. Eubank’s take on the oceans is unique and colorful, all while bringing climate change to the forefront of the conversation.” Phil Marquez, Gallery Director. Eubank earned her MFA at UCLA and has lectured at conferences and universities in Japan, Korea, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Mexico, The United States, Spain, Syria and Italy. From 2011-2014, she painted the Henley Royal Regatta, in Henley-on-Thames, England. In 2012, a documentary film about her work, Mozambique VI, premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
